Northwestern Bell; US West; Qwest and now Effective August 8, 2011, Qwest Corporation began operating under the name CenturyLink QC. As such, Local 7200 represents employees in Qwest Corporation d/b/a CenturyLink QC.

In 1995 CWA bargained a new position titled Health Benefit Coordinator. Health Benefit Coordinators purpose is to assist bargained for employees in the event they have problems with their health care benefits or short term disability. The HBC's are trained on processes and procedures and develop contacts with the various vendors and providers. They can quickly resolve issues and bring peace of mind to members that have problems.

The Health Benefit Coordinators are appointed by CWA leadership.

In 1981, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) created the Committee on the Future to take a long-range look at the evolving needs of its members.
