CWA Private Sector all one Local in New Mexico
CWA Local 7011 is now a New Mexico local! Locals 7001, 7009, 7011, and 7037 have been discussing becoming one local in the state of New Mexico for many years. As of Agugust 1st, 2023 the locals have merged under 7011 to be come one. October of 2022 the local presidents got together and agreed it was in the best interesst to the memberships to combine the four locals into a single local, and discused how the basic structure would look and it was decided to mergre under local 7011 insead of forming a new local. Bylaws and rules were discussed and what changes would need to be made. These changes were brought before membership and voted on in the monthly membership meetings (see calendar for future meeting dates and times.) A vote at each local's membership meeting was held for approval of the merger from membership. April the president all signed a merger agreement and offical work began. Forms were filled, charters were changed, financials had to be reconsiled. With everything in place, National has approved the new charter and CWA Local 7011 is now a New Mexico local. We will strive to have better forms of communication and support to all our members. We are one. We are all the union.
