CBRE/DirectLine Bargaining Begins

Bargaining got underway Monday, November 2nd between CWA Local 9412's bargaining team of President Art Behnam, Executive Vice President Andre Lane, Secretary/Treasurer Ian Niderost & legal counsel Caren Sencer & CBRE.  Topics discussed were an increase of the dollar amount of boot allowances & cell phone reimbursements, increased per diem allowance, creating a framework with a path to step progression of pay within titles & also from one title to another.  Defined thresholds for contractor/term employees to be converted to permanent union employees was discussed, as well as improving vacation terms & conditions & how travelers are handled if they are hired as such rather than permanently assigned to a location.  Both parties recessed after a full day of discussions in a productive day & are set to reconvene on Monday, November 9th to continue the process.  In the meanwhile, keep doing the quality work that is our hallmark & consider setting aside "rainy day" money if possible for yourself.  Stay tuned for more updates.
