Re: Nokia Retiree Healthcare Annual OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
During the Joint Retiree Healthcare Committee (JRHC) annual negotiations for upcoming Plan Year 2019 it became apparent, once again, that the Traditional Indemnity (TI) Plan option costs plan participants in excess of the costs of the United Healthcare Medicare Advantage PPO (MAPPO) for retirees who are over the age of 65.
Effective January 1, 2019 retiree medical coverage, for those retirees and eligible dependents who are post age 65, will be provided through Nokia by the United Healthcare Group Medicare Advantage PPO plan. This plan will save retirees, who are currently enrolled in the TI option, a savings of between 15% and 30% on their monthly premiums costs in 2019 compared to the TI monthly premiums.
Why choose UHC-MAPPO?
- Lower or no monthly premiums costs
- Utilize any Medicare-enrolled provider
- Pay the same copays and/or coinsurance, whether you use an in-network or out-of- network provider
- Additional benefits to original Medicare
If you do not make any changes during the open enrollment period, October 15 to November 2, 2018, you will be automatically enrolled in the UHC-MAPPO for coverage beginning in 2019.
In order to help retirees understand the benefits of the UHC-MAPPO and to answer questions a series of retiree meetings /calls have been scheduled around the country.
