NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #52
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Company and Union Bargaining Teams met again today. The Company rejected the Union’s Concept Proposal #2, stating they have “decided to maintain its plan to integrate and harmonize the legacy Alcatel-Lucent Field Force hybrid delivery model into the Nokia model and use a third-party supplier.” This would, of course, eliminate the bargaining unit. The Company also claimed that our proposal was too restrictive, due in part to the fact that it provided job security for bargaining unit employees.
In addition, the Company is now trying to “understand” the data requests that the Union has been demanding since the beginning of the bargaining process and that is part of a broad complaint from the National Labor Relations Board against Nokia. The Company chair feels that Nokia has given the Union sufficient data in order for us to make a comprehensive proposal. Obviously this is inaccurate and the NLRB fundamentally agrees. Our next bargaining meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, March 14th.
As we said in our report yesterday, the Company is planning to announce a ESVTP on Monday due to a (supposed) surplus in Colorado, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Missouri, Utah and New Mexico.
One day longer, one day stronger! An injury to one is an injury to all! United We Stand!
Your Bargaining Team,
