NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #48

February 7, 2019Dear Brothers and Sisters,The Company and Union Bargaining Teams met today. In an “effort to move thingsalong” the Company Chair passed a “comprehensive proposal” that includes virtually the sameEffects Agreement that they have passed four other times. Aside from a few minor changes tothe Effects Agreement, which includes the ability to access Nokia’s Career Transition Program, the only real difference is the elimination of the entire bargaining unit will be on or beforeDecember 31, 2019. Installers would be given the opportunity to leave early with the effectsagreement if they choose. The comprehensive proposal included a 2% pension band increase; however, there wouldbe no wage increase. Currently 31 states still have subcontractors performing Installation work.We do not have any bargaining meetings scheduled until February 21 st  as the Unionreviews this “comprehensive proposal”.Please continue to mobilize. It is extremely important that the CEO of Nokia, Nokia’sBargaining Chair, Nokia’s Customers and your Legislators need to know that eliminating goodUnion jobs and putting retiree’s benefits at risk is BAD BUSINESS.
