NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #34

October 9, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today the Company and your Bargaining Team met. There were no proposals passed. The Company responded to several of our outstanding data requests but still refused to provide complete responses, saying the data requested is not applicable to these negotiations. CWA continues to feel strongly that any data that will provide us with the information necessary to put together comprehensive cost savings and flexibility proposals is critical for a successful agreement that address the needs of the Company and protects our Installers and Retirees.

We did have an interesting conversation on what customers the Company is looking to win in the future. Nokia is looking to get into Business Enterprises by selling products and services to large companies such as IBM, Apple, etc. Sound familiar? Not only is this work we have done in the past but it has also been raised at the CIG meetings by the Union in the past! The difference is the Company wants to do it Union free so they can compete more effectively. We will resume bargaining on Thursday.

Here is a quote from Yammer:  “There is never enough time or money to do it right the first time, but there’s always enough time and money to do it over”. Maybe this is really Nokia’s new slogan.  Please check out and join Nokia’s Yammer Field Forces conversation. Remember, if you encounter quality issues with 3P contractors or, you are sent to clean up their mess please send the information to the bargaining team:  cwalocal1090@yahoo.com.
