NOKIA BARGAINING REPORT #25

September 6, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Your Bargaining Team and the Company met today. There were no proposals passed but we did have conversations about our proposal on Article 26 and what our interpretation was.

The Company also wanted to know our Members' concerns and issues and if we would agree to an effects agreement. We stated we are not here to bargain an effects agreement, but our Members' concerns would be job losses, pension eligibility and active and retiree healthcare. We told them we have union brothers and sisters with family members who have health issues and that loss of healthcare would be devastating to their families. If you go and work for 3P contractors you would not get the same benefits that we have today, if they even offer any jobs to us.

We told the Company, loud and clear, that our goal is to bargain a fair and equitable contract that addresses job security, retiree and active healthcare and that also addresses the Company’s need for cost and flexibility.

Bargaining will resume Tuesday, September 11.  Over the next few days we will keep working on proposals as we work towards a fair contract.

Remember, if you encounter quality issues with 3P Contractors or are sent to clean up their mess, please send the information to the Bargaining Team:  cwalocal1090@yahoo.com.

Please continue using this link to send an online letter to Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri and Nokia Bargaining Chair Steve Muscat, telling them to save American jobs and bargain in good faith! If you would like to write a letter and send it via the USPS their addresses are:

Steve Muscat / Senior Director Americas HR-Labor Relations / Nokia of America Corporation / 600 Mountain Avenue, Room 6C-419 / Murray Hill, NJ 07974

We will continue to fight for a fair and equitable contract that protects jobs and retiree healthcare.

An Injury To One, Is An Injury To All! United We Stand!
