Bargaining Report #18

July 24, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Formal bargaining between the Company and your Bargaining Team resumed today. The Union passed additional data requests regarding such issues/concerns as Quality Audit Reports for Core Installers and 3P, use of personal laptops for company business, 5G training and more.

The Company presented its new Global Services Model, outlining 7 business units, that was announced last week which will be implemented September 1, 2018. The company wants to move to Automation and Remotization using, in part, their crowdsourcing model.

The Company has no interest in agreeing to any of our proposals “until we see the entire picture to cost it out”.  In addition, they have not moved off of their “Core Entrepreneurial Decision” to eliminate the Bargaining Unit by June of next year. As a side note none of these “aspirational goals” are slated to be in place by 2020!

We are a long way off to say the least. The Contract expires August 1, 2018. We need you to continue doing Quality Work so our customers get the service they are paying for and the secure networks they deserve.   Please keep mobilization going. We will need membership support as we continue to bargain for a new contract, job security, and retirement security and preserve retiree healthcare.

Remember if you encounter quality issues with 3P contractors or are sent to clean up their mess please send the information to the bargaining team by emailing cwalocal1090@yahoo.com.
