BARGAINING REPORT #15
July 9, 2018
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Company and your Bargaining Team resumed bargaining today. The Company responded to the Union’s request for the results of the quality video audits the company has been trialing in the US. If the results of the company’s ability to conduct video audits is any indication of the Field Forces of the Future the customers are really in for a rough ride. Fifty percent (50%) of the scheduled audits could not be completed partially due to inadequate bandwidth!!!
In addition, the Company and Union got into a heated discussion regarding improper layoffs and base depopulations. The company still wants to move to the 3P model and eliminate the bargaining unit. On the one hand, the company is complaining that the core Installers cost too much and on the other, the company is justifying the money they are spending on temporary transfers because the customer request core Installers perform the work. The justification? “All our customers are important” and yet going forward if a customer demands a core Installer the company plans to refer the Installer to a 3P who may or may not employ that Installer and/or may or may not do work for that customer . Confused?? Join the club.
Remember if you encounter quality issues with 3P contractors or are sent to clean up their mess please send the information to the bargaining team by emailing cwalocal1090@yahoo.com.
