Bargaining Report # 6
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Company and your Bargaining Team met again today. The Company responded to several more of the Union’s data requests.
The Company passed a second proposal today: this one on post-retirement healthcare, dental and group life insurance. The Company is willing to extend these benefits through December 2021 provided the Union agrees to eliminate the bargaining unit! Not only do we find this proposal egregious but, to add additional insult, their proposal puts even more costs onto the backs of the Retirees.
We are continuing to work on proposals and are scheduled to meet with the Company again tomorrow. We are working hard to achieve a contract that keeps our bargaining unit intact and continues to provide retirement security for all.
Mobilization efforts need to be stepped up! The contract expiration date is fast approaching!
