Bargaining Report # 3
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Company and your Bargaining Team met again today. The Company presented the Union with data that had previously been requested. The Company contends that by moving to a 3rd party contractor model they will save 30% of costs. Your Bargaining Team does not agree with the Company’s numbers on this issue. By eliminating the bargaining unit, the Company claims will allow them to save costs in other areas as well such as tools, vehicles, time reporting, payroll systems, etc. In other words every last remnant of our proud unit and anything associated with us.
The Union rejected the Company’s one and only proposal. We made it clear will have no interest in eliminating the oldest bargaining unit in CWA. We are scheduled to meet again tomorrow.
The new Nokia scheme is all about outsourcing our work to 3rd parties. This scheme affects not only the Bargaining Unit but the Retirees as well. We need to let the Company know that we will not go away without a fight. It’s time to mobilize and stand up against Nokia’s scheme.
An Injury To One, Is An Injury To All! United We Stand!
