Protect E-ZPass Workers

Nearly 300 E-ZPass customer service call center workers, members of CWA Local 1102, are fighting to keep our jobs on Staten Island.

The New York State contract to provide E-ZPass customer support for the MTA is open for bid, but the request for proposals does not require the contracting company to retain the current workforce, putting our livelihoods at risk. We're calling on the MTA to protect workers and ensure that any contract they accept includes a commitment to protect our jobs!

About the campaign

For well over a decade, the call center workers now employed by Conduent have staffed the E-ZPass call center at the current location in Staten Island. These jobs provide a very important opportunity for upward mobility and economic stability for these workers. Since 2012, we have been members of CWA Local 1102, and through our union we've been able to win improved pay and benefits, job security and a grievance procedures, and most recently secured work-from-home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MTA is soliciting bids for a new contractor that would oversee our work, but they have not committed to job protection guarantees, putting our jobs and our livelihoods at risk. We're calling on the MTA to ensure that any contract they accept includes a commitment to protect our jobs!
