On March 12th, Phoenix elected a new Mayor, Kate Gallego. When the AZ State Council endorsed Kate, the Retired Members Council Local 70003 got to work.

The first meeting with Kate was on December 18, 2018. Kate gave an update on her campaign and thanked the chapter for CWA’s endorsement. “It truly is an honor to be endorsed by CWA,” she said. Eight CWA retirees attended the informal gathering served and it served as a perfect space for all retired members to ask Kate questions about issues important to them and to get to know her on a more personal level.

CWA retirees held four phone banks, had an envelope stuffing party and attended her get out the vote rally. In addition to these efforts, they talked to fellow retirees about HR1 and the state call center bill.
