CWA/AT&T Midwest Bargaining Report #65

Over the weekend, the Company provided the Union with the additional information that we had requested regarding the offer that AT&T had communicated directly to our membership. After exhaustively reviewing this information, specifically the health care portion, we are convinced that the details that were left out or left unexplained make this offer even more detrimental to CWA members than we previously believed.

While the Company did provide most of the data requested to explain their so-called final offer, there are numerous data requests that AT&T has failed to fulfill. These requests are related to work and call volumes, contractor information, and plans related to the windfall from legislation passed in Congress in 2017. The CWA had filed multiple charges with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to hold AT&T accountable for failing to provide the information that is needed to collectively bargain.

We continue to try and work to reach an agreement with AT&T, while they continue to send misleading propaganda pieces to our membership, doing so again this morning. There have been charges filed at the NLRB for direct dealing with CWA members as well.

If AT&T has been paying attention, they would understand that CWA members in District 4 want to work. We want outsourced and contracted-out functions to be returned to the bargaining unit. We want to reach a contract that allows all of us to continue our careers providing service to our customers and communities that has been sorely lacking in recent years. We cannot allow the downward spiral of poor customer service and lack of investment in employees and communities to continue.

We need a commitment that there is a future at AT&T. We need a fair contract now.
